Expository Essay

I know that namy of you had questions realted to the Who, What, Where, When and Why of the first essay. I hope that your study groups helped. I have answered some of the questions here. If you need me to answer more, please comment on this post and let me know your questions.

When is it due: Wednesday, Feb. 4

When do I get to work on it? Thursday and Friday 1/22-1/23 are used for in-class research. If you don't get your research done in-class you will need to schedule time outside of school or during our few days in the library. We will be in the library Friday 30, Monday Feb. 2, and Tues. Feb 3. This is it!!! I will try to get the computer lab on Tues. Wed. and Thurs, but I am not promising anything.

What other insturction am I going to get? I will have a mini lesson on Citing Sources internally on Monday 26th and conference time for outlining that same day. Other than that, the rubric and the outline(s) lay out the requriements for you. Make sure to read the rubric than re-read the rubric to make sure that you have all the requirements completed in your essay. Also, since this is a chance to find out areas that people are in need of instruction on, I hope that if you need help you will ask, so that I wouldn't feel the need to reteach it.

Where/How am I turning this in? I want you to post it to your blog. Assignment title should be the type of essay you are writing

Do I need a bibliography? Yes, but you can post that on the blog too. Don't forget about using easybib.com to complete your citations.

How long does it have to be? 3 pages. Your essay must have an introduction, body and conclusion, but each essay has a different number of body paragraphs based on the outline. Keep in mind that you can always add paragraphs or split up main points to add length to your essay.

Will we comment again? Yes. They will be new people

References I can't use? Anything provided in-class and the any credible source from the internet.Keep in mind that your sources can be all from one type of source. If you need to use 3 books that fine or 3 websites that's fine too.

What do I need to post to my blog? You need to post your final draft and your bibliography. You will turn in your research notes, outline and rough draft on Wednesday!!!

What is a rough draft? It cna be hand written or typed, printed out with noticable revisions made with pen, pencil or marker.
